A quick update from Nick on the first day of treatment.  

Sharing our preparations and meal plans for Nick's twelve weeks of chemotherapy treatments.

This post isn’t an update about treatment or about how I’m feeling.  It’s more of a quick post celebrating one last night of normalcy before treatment begins on Monday.  There are a few photos in there too.

Today, Ashley and I made the journey to the University of Iowa Hospital and Clinics Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center to get a second opinion on the treatment plan and diagnosis.  As a result of today’s appointments, there has been a change to the treatment plan.

For the next nine weeks, beginning on March 5, 2018, Nick will undergo three cycles of BEP chemotherapy for three weeks each.  BEP stands for the drugs bleomycin, etoposide, and cisplatin.
